GFE Global’s goal for this Jatropha project was to provide a proof of concept for profitability in the Costa Rica market, as well as, valuable research for the cultivation and harvesting of optimum yield of Jatropha plantations.

The process of proving this concept has been more about disproving the misleading public data currently available, in order to develop a realistic “Business Model” for all parties; investor, farmer, and biofuel processor.

After 5 years and the developed GFE Global Commercial Standard Operating Procedures for large scale farming, GFE Global moved from this first leased farm.

GFE Global identified the strongest genetic strains of trees and transplanted them to the new farm.

GFE Global R&D has taken seeds with oil contents of 34% and improved seed oil contents in these trees to 48% oil content.
